Our Honeymoon

For our honeymoon, we went to Long Beach, Washington.  We were gone June 15-21.  Long Beach is actually right on the Oregon/Washington border, so we spent some time in both states.  It was a beautiful place. Mom gave us a weeks stay in a timeshare condo for a wedding gift here.  The condo was very nice and was right on the beach!

We saw quite a few places while we were there. We drove up and down the coast, visiting a few lighthouses. Some of the hikes to the lighthouses were pretty steep. It was nice weather thought and enjoyable.  We also traveled to Mount Saint Helens, but we got there too late to really see anything like the visitor's center or whatnot. We just looked from the car.

Toward the tail end of our stay, we went to Seattle. We wanted to go to the Space Needle for lunch, but it was super crowded and apparently reservations had to be made weeks in advance. Who knew?! We spent time on the pier, walking around the Space Needle and visiting the Chihuly glass exhibit that was there.  A little pricey to look at a bunch of glass, but that's okay to do something like that once in awhile.

We made it back in one piece, and we didn't even kick one another out of the car! Hey! It was a memorable trip and honeymoon.

Best Day Ever!

June 14, 2014

Today was our wedding day! What a crazy, busy, and exciting day it was.

My sisters came over with the little girls and we all got ready together. We did our hair, makeup, and got into our matching navy blue dresses.  The little girls got on their golden shimmery dresses. They looked so cute!

I drove down to Salt Lake to the temple with Mom and Lance, and Dale met us in the lobby.  The workers there were so nice. They took care of my dress and bouquet and made sure everything ran smoothly.  Mom was able to help me get in my dress and wait with me for a bit.

Dale met me and we were able to spend some time in the celestial room of the temple together. There were a lot of other couples in there getting married!  Soon, we met with all of our family in the sealing room to be married and sealed for time and all eternity. It was a short and sweet ceremony.  We were blessed to have so many family and friends there.  People who were there in the temple: Janica & Lance, Jenni & Tony, Kristin & Matthew, Grandma Rene & Dad, Colette & Justin Petersen, Molly & Will Clayson, Allynne & Ruben Garcia, Grandpa Wood,  Verla & Jim Pendergast, Joan Hubbell, Grandpa & Grandpa Rackham, Roxanne Harris, Amy & Jason Henrie, and Randy & Charlene Johnson.  The spirit was so strong, and it was wonderful to have my Grandpa Wood and Dale's dad be our witnesses on our wedding certificate.

After the temple, we came outside and many, many more of our friends and relatives were there waiting for us to greet us and congratulate us.  It was wonderful to have so much support.  It was a beautiful day, and it was even a little bit chilly for June! We took many pictures and then drove to Clearfield for a luncheon and reception.

We had a luncheon, speeches, dancing, and then cleaned up for a dessert reception.  Everything seemed to go so fast! It was fun to see and talk with so many people.  I'll let the pictures do most of the talking!
