Over Committed

Who has 832 emails in their inbox? Yep, me. It's true! A bit pathetic, but true. I find myself getting excited, signing up for things, and then never opening the email. Why? Either I just needed instant satisfaction (or a coupon or something) and signed up in the moment which is now long past, and I don't care a week later, or the next day, or the next, and the emails just keep coming. Lame-o. A year ago, I set a New Year's resolution to unsubscribe myself from at least 5 email lists a day. Like many things, that didn't happen because I don't want to take the time. I'm feeling a bit over committed lately.

Oh, Jam!

One of these things is not like the other ones . . .

Needless to say, I came across some PrEtTy WeIrD looking strawberries while I was making jam today. This one was like conjoined triplets! Ahh, nature. Anyway, making was really fun and easier than I remembered. It took me a few hours, in between everything else that I was doing, but I finally got eight 12 oz jars of light strawberry jam (light sugar, that is). It looks delicious, and until proven any different, I'm going to assume that it is! Yay! I know, first quilting, sewing, and now canning. My nickname might as well be Domestic Goddess. :)

It's Happened

It's happened. Yep, it's true. I thought it would happen much sooner than it did, but I guess I can count myself lucky there. What is this thing? Well, I had students try to add me to facebook. I promptly hit Ignore. We have zero friends in common, and it will remain that way! It's kind of nice to know that at least some of my students don't hate my guts, but not nice enough that I want to read every bit of their lives outside of school. Nor do they need to read about mine! I'd like to think that some of my life is private from my students! Facebook me in a few years kiddos. :)

A Little Serenity

This picture just makes me laugh. My friend Misty took it when we were camping in Oct./Nov. in Moab. I was totally sitting on a ledge, trying my best not to laugh. :)

Ridiculous!

I've seen my share of ridiculous acts while driving--putting on makeup, reading a book, crocheting (yep--true!)--and even a few of the normal h sucabits such as eating, drinking, talking or the almost illegal texting. However, this past weekend I noticed the most ridiculous bad driving habit EVER. I saw a lady brushing her teeth. Yep, you read that right. She was brushing her teeth while driving. Seriously? First of all, how long does it take to brush your teeth? I'm sure your boss wouldn't mind if you were two minutes late because you did. If she's cutting it that close, I would consider that a definite time-management problem! Plus, where in the world is she going to spit? Not out the window. Have you ever seen something go out a window while speeding along? Enough said. People, stop being ridiculous and just drive!

My Mad Skills

I've been wanting to make a cute bag for awhile. So, I decided to sew while I was watching the sessions of General Conference today. After much cutting, reading the pattern, encouragement from my mom, sewing, and ironing (in no particular order), here is the wonderful result of my work!

Two cute bags, one green with a white lining and one black with a teal lining. They also have the cute pucker detail in the middle. All for less than $13! I made a matching cover case for my mini-laptop in the green, also. What can I say? Sometimes I just feel domestic. Bring on the canning!

Okay, okay. So, now that I'm on a roll posting pictures of things I've made, here's a quilt I made for Misty Z for her birthday back in October. She picked the fabrics, and I picked the design. A secret to her! :) It's one of my favorite quilts I've made yet!
